Here's a murielae shoot from the end of October 2012, some this far advanced die through cold winters but inexplicably others live.

My tallest Robusta 'Campbell' shoot as of this morning:

It's definitely not growing fast.

One of the nice things about living in the PNW is being able to grow the Chimonobambusas well. I've been watching C.Szechuanensis put up shoots since October. They're full height now. The culm sheaths have faded to a whitish-tan, and the culms have turned a dark purple, nearly black. They should start branching out pretty soon.

Indeed it looks fabulous. Sadly it's quite delicate and would not thrive in Z7. Nice one, thank you for sharing photo with us.

Just an update, F. murieale shoots are actively growing. Size of newly emerged shoots is hard to detect, but they are growing and, a bit more evident, more and more little shoots emerge each day. Temperatures are just above freezing, but when there's sun above, it can get to over 10C. No cold and no snow predicted for January.

Here's an updated photo of the 'White Dragon' shoots two weeks later.

I can't say growth is obvious, but I do think they're slightly taller.

Starting to see Scabrida shoots breaking ground on the sunny side of my clump.

Getting some nice coloration on the culms too.

I'm more & more impressed with Scabrida as time goes on, it's just so elegant. Right up there with F. murielae.

I'll cheat now. It's not actually a shoot and not from 2015, but it's worth mentioning. H. T. Shiroshima can decide to grow shoot from it's culm.
