I have heard about bamboo candles being a good source of income as they are all unique and look much better than glass.
I am trying to understand what needs to be done to the bamboo itself so that it would not possibly ignite! Would I just soak it in a flame retardant solution such as this? http://www.tikishackimporter.com/1gafir ... 7AodnBQAHw
Or is this overkill and I do not need to worry about that?

Re: Bamboo Candles?
My thought is that a bamboo candle holder will be fine untreated as long as it's big enough. I'd definitely do a lot of tests before I started selling these though.

Wooden candle holders can catch fire and any candles should not be left unattended. I shudder to think of how many candle stores I've seen burn down over the years. (Okay, I also remember a number of fireplace stores that also burned.)fandelem wrote:I have heard about bamboo candles being a good source of income as they are all unique and look much better than glass.

That said, there are a surprising number of people who make wooden candle holders. Looking at the bamboo candles on-line they do appear to be coated with something. The product you 're planning to use does look good. Another possibility is this:

The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.

gotta love amazon reviews.. i wish the link I had published had people rating it!!
I was required to purchase Fire retardant spray to cover some area in my business to pass fire inspection, so I chose this one. That night after I close the store I sprayed the area and left. The next morning entire area had an awful appearance, looked like area was covered with some kind glue-like liquid, than I had to clean up that dirty looking spray.. Maybe it works, I can't know unless we have a fire, but in a public place it doesn't give a clean, nice appearance.. I don't think I would buy this product again.

Yes, many Amazon reviews make very entertaining reading. Among my favorites from the past were The Zombie Survival Guide, TyTy Nursery and a computer desktop to fasten to your steering wheel soyou can use your computer while driving.fandelem wrote:gotta love amazon reviews.. i wish the link I had published had people rating it!!I was required to purchase Fire retardant spray to cover some area in my business to pass fire inspection, so I chose this one. Those are HILARIOUS!
Here is my all time favorite. It is a flame thrower I purchased:
Holy Crap This Is Awesome, December 3, 2008
By Gary L. Wright (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Red Dragon VT 3-30 C 500,000 BTU Heavy Duty Propane Vapor Torch Kit (Lawn & Patio)
I bought this thing while I was camping. Our firewood was a bit damp and I was having trouble getting the campfire started. With this handy-dandy roaster, I had a bonfire within a minute or so. Then, I decided to use it on the weeds at home. The instructions warn against using the torch near conifers (like Evergreen-type shrubs, bushes, topiaries), so I stayed about 5 feet away from those. Well, this thing is hotter than the blazes of Hell and Damnation itself! I roasted a few of my bushes, but thankfully, they've started to come back. We just had a few inches of snow here in Chicago and I drove over it in the driveway. I ended up with icy patches of packed snow and figured I'd pull out Satan's air conditioner. Not only did it melt those ice patches faster than a hooker drops her panties, it melted a five foot section of snow (about 3 inches deep) in front of the nozzle. Well, after that, I just had to screw around with it. I cooked a frozen hot-dog in less than 30 seconds. OK, "cooked" is the wrong word. I turned a frozen hot dog into a pile of ash. Since that was fun, I tried it with an old cell-phone I had laying around. It stunk, but man it was cool to watch it turn into a gelatinous pile of stink. Someone else mentioned having to roast your weeds and then come back to weed by hand a week later. That's totally unnecessary. Just hold the flame on the weed for about 10 seconds and it'll kill it, burn it, turn it to ash, and then burn the ash into smaller ash. The roots will be dead and the weed will never return. OK, maybe it will, but I roasted a section of stone in my backyard that had weeds growing up. It's been nearly 2 years and nothing has grown there. Yeah, it sounds like a jet engine when you fire it up, but it's awesome! I highly recommend this for weed burning, camp fire starting, party tricks, and hot dog cremation. And next week, I'm going to head over to my mean, old, crotchety neighbor's house in the middle of the night and burn "A-Hole" into his lawn. Man, I can't wait till my kid's hamster bites the dust!

I will spare you 2 hours of reading comments:
Find an old propane tank without the internal regulator and you can get a 15' flame. Like back in vietnam!!
