I did a half hour of work today... I'm done.

Post by mantis »

There are a whole 3 people in my office today. I guess that isn't too strange since the company is only 7 people to begin with.

Anyway, I'm done with working. Time to break out a book. I guess this also means that I'll probably post a bunch of worthless dribble here too. :P

But first I need another cup of tea... Today I'm drinking African Rooibos herb red tea.

Anyone else feel like slacking today?

I'm slacking (not working) until Monday.

Does that red tea put "lead in your pencil" or what?

Actually the snip was last Friday, and that took all of the lead out of my pencil. :?

I've read about a type of Green Tea made with Sasa Veitchii leaves. I've been trying to get details of the process, but so far no luck. :?

I have not been able to find a whole lot of info on tea made with Sasa veitchii leaves, but I have found things like the following:

Kuma Saza tea

EasternTea.com consistently updates you with news about new exotic teas that we find. This week we would like to introduce the bamboo leaf tea from Hokkaido, Wakkanai.

It is made from a bamboo species that grows in Hokkaido or the north part of the Japan. It is called the Kuma Saza tea. It is green in colour and is known to be alkaline and rich in amino acids and vitamins.

It is a good tea for those who are having digestion problems or for those who drink a lot of alcohol and want to cleanse their livers. It is light in taste and many have said that it taste a little like green tea but lighter in taste.

Like Kyuzo (pictured above) in "The Seven Samurai," I've "...Killed (more than) two..." bamboos.

Maybe I'll harvest a few of next year's new S. veitchii leaves and try drying and brewing them. Never thought of bamboo for tea, but it could be a nice no-caffeine beverage.

Love white tea, and look for it at the local discount store that gets overstock gourmet foods and sells them cheap. Got 100-teabag boxes of white tea for $4.99 each. Jasmine green tea, too.

I've gotten rather fond of green tea, but I cheat and get the pre-made Arizona Green Tea.

I think there is some sort of pan frying procedure in making tea from Sasa veitchii leaves.

I am slowly switching over from my 30 cups of coffee/day habit to 4 cups or so of tea. I'm also trying to kick my caffeine addiction, which is why I'm sticking to herbal teas. :)
