I'm new at this Keros, but I noticed your photo looks a lot like the shoot on my Phyllostachys
parvifolia.

Nuda was what I thought but it is too young to be certain, the crook in the culm agrees with Nuda.

Re: My unknown boo
Could it be propinqua Beijing or Li Yu Gan? Looks like that, or a form of Glauca or Fimbriligula but that is rarer.

Re: My unknown boo
I was also thinking it might be Phyllostachys propinqua 'Beijing'. It is supposed to be flowering so if it does, we might have found it. Did it start flowering last season?
Re: My unknown boo
There were no blooming last year, if I see, this year blossom , then we will know 100 % corect ID

Re: My unknown boo
The new culms on my Beijing always had a hint of blue blush around the nodes - easy to spot.

Re: My unknown boo
There you go, that is the blue. I've never been sure if Beijing is the same as Li Yu Gan but suspect it may be, whatever you have is a dead ringer for what I bought as Beijing. What it actually is may be a bigger story, I think it looks like a member of the Glauca clan.
