Hey all,
So, last fall I teased a Vivax H.Inversa rhizome into the drain hole of a 10 gallon pot. It's rooted nicely inside the pot now, I was wondering when would be a good time to sever it from the main plant.
Thanks!

Re: When to sever a Rhizome
The Sasas & Indocalmus I did a few years back needed at least a year and half. Ones severed earlier subsequently either collapsed or withered away. I thought they'd have taken a much shorter time to establish.

I think it may be best to let it shoot inside the pot, allowing the grove to charge it up. Just make sure you have good shoot buds forming in there, and lots of roots to support it. It may be best to wait all the way until July if a shoot forms in there.

Re: When to sever a Rhizome
Thanks guys! Hopefully it'll put up a shoot inside the pot, then maybe I'll be able to sever it towards the end of summer/early fall when it's nicely leaved out.
