Fargesia sp. Scabrida is shooting like mad here. Planted in September as a one gallon the shoots are up to a foot away and have doubled and a few even trip[led in diameter.

I have a 7 gallon pot of Borinda/yushania Boliana shooting. It spent winter outside in a sheltered area. It'll be interesting to see when the one in ground starts shooting.

2nd year in ground Phyllostachys aureosulcata 'spectabilis' is putting up some shoots and whipshoots. I also noticed a piece of rhizome about 5' away thats headed straight for my gravel driveway, silly plant!

P. Nigra shoots starting to come up, the tallest one is already 20" tall. It's following the compost berm that I created.

Bashania fargesii shooting now, not all that late for it, usually next will come sasa, fargesia, indocalamus and a couple of Phyllostachys in the next week - normally, we'll see this year.

Generally praecox and Harbin Inversa at about the same time, followed quickly by Spectabilis.
