Fargesia demissa lanzhou
In the old time was..... Lanzhou an important city at the silk road -
Lanzhou was called in former times also the gold city - today is it
province capital of Gansu. The city lies in the valley of the yellow
river. In the city the "white pagode" is, these is Dschingis Khan in
honours of the Tibetan Lama to have established. The ascent is
recompenced with a wonderful view over the city and the yellow river.
Thousands of years old artery of China between the mountains moves along
broadly and over-powerfully. The water accepted the yellowish color of
the surrounding mountains - therefore also the name. Already Marco Polo
reported: "the inhabitants live on fruits, which grow here in the
abundance, and can supply so all travelers". Lanzhou was already in 2.
Century before Christ an important commercial shipping place along the
silk road. For dealers there was only one possibility the yellow river
to cross: 70km south of Lanzhou, near the grotten of Binglingsi with
Yougijing. Because of large variations in temperature and small amount
of precipitation there are many kinds of fruit of outstanding quality in
Lanzhou. In Lanzhou is sucked. Hexi passage, the most important part of
the silk road and the mountain of the Jadequelle. The mountain of the
Jadequelle - south of Lanzhou and at the northern river of the Gaolan
mountain convenient - it thront more than 1600Meter highly over the sea
level. Because there are 5 sources in this mountain, he got the name
"mountain of the Jadequellen". From the numerous temples of the mountain
the Chongqing temple (from the at the beginning of the Ming dynasty) is
the most important. In this temple exists a powerful iron bell from the
Jing dynasty with 500kg and 3 meters height. Fargesia demissa lanzhou
was collected there

It is a nice collection of pictures. I wonder what about the cold hardiness and heat tolerance of them.

Photo are in my garden (Hakone garden Germany) photographed. Jos van the Palen and Mike Bell have this bamboo

I thought you were traveling in China and translating from a tourist's tract. Which would be nice. I guess I was only dreaming about a trip for myself.
