Anybody else like elms? I love elms except for DED wiping out native ones, but with all the different ones on the market, plenty of options are out there. Up close to the homestead, I have Accolade hybrid elm, Green King hybrid elm, Jefferson American elm, and Princeton American elm. Also have a couple red elms that still exist on the farm that are around 10' in circumference. They tend to be more resistant to DED than American elms.
Pics of my Princeton elm, that was planted in memory of my nephew.

Lance, those are phenominal shots... you really captured the "essence" of the area you live in.... looking at those photos, I get the same feeling as when I hike into one of the wilderness areas around here and and have a view practically into infinity from the mountains.

Great shots. I wasn't aware of all the new hybrid choices now. The elm I most often see here is the Chinese elm, --not the same form that's for sure.

Well, it is an object, it is flying and I don't know what it is. Definitely an unidentified flying object.rfgpitt wrote:Probably didn't notice the UFO in the award winner.

My Bamboo List.
The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.

Yeah, plenty of different elms to buy, just are too high priced to buy too many of them. I found place that sales them wholesale, but the times I've checked, they were sold out of what I wanted. Typically, the most common elm in town and on homesteads around here, is the siberian elm. Its form and size isn't as good as the two native species, but it resists DED, while the other two parish.Thuja wrote:Great shots. I wasn't aware of all the new hybrid choices now.
