Re: PLEASE HELP! How to get rid of bamboo
The dimensions are actually 20 feet wide by 4 feet deep. The real length is probably 40 feet long, at least. This is nothing.... I relocated this spring( healthy divisions of the plants, culms, roots, soil and everything) bigger grove, in 2 days. Me and my brother. Didn't cut it down, we relocated ...

Re: PLEASE HELP! How to get rid of bamboo
Hi. Don't know how much, and how big the bamboo is, but the sum for removing it you mention is just crazy. It's not so hard killing any bamboo stand. You can just cut all culms as close as possible to the ground(so the stumps are leveled with soil level, because it's much easier to walk over it), an...

Re: Phy Propinqua ‘Beijing’ Flowering
I think mine is in full flower now. The new culms are all quite weak and putting out weird looking branches, and definitely flower buds all over the place. I'll post some photos soon. Was not the best choice to replace my Ph. glauca 'Yunzhu' it seems. :( Bad side of bamboo flowering is the plant is...

Re: Best way of how to build a moso bamboo plantation ?
For zone 6 (Serbia), better choice to plant is Nigra Henonis or Parvifolia. They will be as big as moso in zone 6, maybe even bigger, and they are much more cold hardy.

Re: Please identify this Phyllostachys
Check it out at kimmei.com I did check it at kimmei, but information I want is not there. They say: Phyllostachys prominens (picture above left) Strong grower with very thick erect culms and prominent rings. Resembles Ph. dulcis and is sure related to it. Height 6-8 m.+ sun till half shadow hardy b...

Re: Please identify this Phyllostachys
I did some research on my own, and I found something that could be it. Really hope it is that. Could it be Ph. Prominens? Here is the pic of his shoot. It looks like it, right? Anybody knows what is the max height and diameter? And how fast does it size up(how many years till mature plants, good soi...

Please identify this Phyllostachys
Hi. Don't know how mature plant looks, how tall and how big is the diameter. All I have is these pictures. That small culm is strong, very thick walled, and smooth to the touch. Thank you in advance for your answers. http://i66.tinypic.com/15qq1d2.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/142xw86.jpg http://i67.ti...
