Re: Freezpruf experiences? To Pruf or Not to Pruf?

Hello Alan, My property is pretty well shielded to the north. There is an open lot to the west. I would guess I just got lucky. I did not find any leaf curl, everything looked amazingly good. The forcast says 55 deg by friday. I will take another look then and see if there is any change. The plants ...

Re: Tis the season to notice bamboo groves you never saw bef

Re: Tis the season to notice bamboo groves you never saw bef

YUP!!! I spotted a grove of Yellow grove that I pass almost everyday for the last 30 years. The grove covers the whole property. The biggest is about 2 inches or less. I will get some photos soon to post. There is also a grove of unknown bamboo that I have heard mythical stories about but can not sp...

Re: Over-wintering bamboo/ other plants

I have a question about wintering and watering... If you are storing potted bamboo in the basement "Un-heated fruit cellar" or like Brad does outside, Do you need to water them or just leave them for the winter? P.S. I just got back from Savanna Ga. I should have contacted the guys here to...

Re: Is this the right stuff????

Hello Alan, The flies look like fruit flies, just a bit smaller than house fly with rounded wings. I forgot to spray one of my bamboos when I had the bayer out. This one Bamboo had tons of flyies while the others had none! The flies are just sitting on the culms as you walk up and they must be sucki...

Re: P. Nigra Henon

Hello Benboo,
My P. Nigra has been a disapointment, as Needmore had cautioned.
My inground top-killed and the potted has not had but maybe one small shoot.
Maybe it is this speciffic genus???
Not nearly as hardy as most sellers websites describe...
Your climate-species may have better results.

Rubro and Bissetii shooting like crazy

Hello Bamboo group, Was in the yard tonight with a flashlight hunting nightcrawlers for a fish outing with Dalton "my son" in the morning. WOW!!! I must have found 20 new shoots from the Rubro and Bissetii I got from Needmore Bamboo in 2009. No big shoots but there sure are lots of them, a...

Re: Is this the right stuff????

Ok so maybe I don;t have the mites on my Bamboo....
My leaves look nothing like the photo FoxD posted.
But those little flys are sure doing some damage.
It has been 2 days since I sprayed the Bayer.
My Bamboo has never looked happier.

Re: the never ending quest to elimnate gophers from the world

My dad just drowns them!!!
but he has a well pump and unlimited water.
Its fun when they pop up and you smash them with a shovel.
But mostly they just drown in the ground. The only way I know is that they never dig up the yard again.
