Re: Help identifying clumping bamboo.

Find it ironic that even the bamboo specialist at (Boo For You) who sold it to him could not identify exactly which species it was when I showed him the pictures. Makes me wonder if he sold him something that he normally doesn’t carry.

Re: Help identifying clumping bamboo.

Thanks for the input guys. I would to find out what it is so I can grow some as it is a beautiful specimen. This gentleman had a clump of 30 ft Oldhami that got destroyed by the the winter, but this held up just great.

Re: Help identifying clumping bamboo.

I think lack of lower branches might rule out Asian Lemon.

Re: Help identifying clumping bamboo.

Nicholas, I considered it, but this seems to have very few branches on lower 1/3rd and the combs or shoots are already getting bigger than most Alphonse Karr. Anyone else with a guess.

Help identifying clumping bamboo.

So found this in a guys yard in Gulf breeze zone 9B. Did not know what it was, said he bought from BooGorYou. So I took pictures to them and he could not identify either. Did very well through winter here. Wondering if it might be Sunburst or Asian lemon. I will put a few more pictures up.

Re: Best bamboo irrigation

We are almost a barrier island on the coast and the sea breeze seems to push most afternoon storms in the summer away from us. Since most of the bamboo will be spread out on the one acre and not concentrated in one area I will probably focus on heavy sprinkler irrigation. Definitely water seems to b...

Best bamboo irrigation

So my new house is almost finished. Will be putting in irrigation system soon. Will have about a dozen clumpers spread out on my 1 acre property. I’m in Gulf Breeze fl and we get hot and inconsistent rain. Will definitely have sprinklers for grass. Seems like sprinklers are not best option for bambo...

Help, Conflicting reports clumping bamboo Florida panhandle.

I have picked some specific bamboos for Gulf breeze zone 9b. Stopped by Boo For You in Pensacola. Owner very nice and helpful. He has several hundred types of bamboo on his property and for sale. He seems very knowledgeable but stated many of my picks will not live here in 9b. Which was surprising a...

Re: Gracilis new planted going crazy! Please help!

Some show a little shock initially when planted. I’ve found even a new water source such as city water with some chemicals can initially effect the bamboo. I have found gracillis to be very tough and hardy. It might initially lose some leaves, but will likely quickly sprout new leafs and do just fin...
