I flushed the soil on one, and left the other alone as a control. No difference. They both are growing leaves and new shoots, but the tips of the leaves still turn brown; even as they are growing. Other suggestions?

I'm not sure how that could be. When I got them a few months ago, I transplanted them into bigger pots with that Miracle Gro moisture control soil, and then I only fertilized them this spring with an all nitrogen grass fertilizer; no potash or phosphate. So I'm at a loss what to do.

I am growing phyllostachys aurea koi indoors in large pots. They are putting out leaves, and new culms are growing, but the tips of the leaves all turn brown.
