I have recently returned from Ecuador where I bought split guadua poles to ship
to my home in Tampa, FL to use as a fence. Does anyone know of importation restrictions
(basically USDA requirements). A friend in Guayaquil can have them fumigated or whatever
prior to delivery to the freight forwarder. Thanks

It's not live material, but I think you should check directly with the USDA.

I forgot about a bamboo culm that had been dried for several months with no leaves in the back of my truck one time. I went to Mexico and upon returning, I was really, really chewed on by Customs. It doesn't matter if it a dead culm or not. They seem to be really clamping down on bamboo.
