It usually doesnt work though.

I think of it as "only 2 more months, then it's March, and that's when some bamboos start to shoot". :santa:

Thats a good way of looking at the start of winter. Since days are getting progressively longer, the chances of having really cold nights should be dropping in a few weeks.

Most nights are in the 20s now.

I meant a turning point in temps at around the 3rd week of January.

I know it's wishful thinking, but at least more minutes of sunshine usually means the more my greenhouse heats up and the less time it has to freeze. It also tends to warm up much easier on sunny days in March as opposed to January.

I've looked at the temperature records from our campus weather station and on average there is a regular pattern of temperature changes. We usually get a sudden drop in temperature about the 15th of January.

As a side note, I have a copy of a government report on what global warming is going to do to various parts of the country. Looks like we will be able to grow the large size Moso and some Bambusa within 40 years.

The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.
