My new boo. Please help!

Post by Rob »

Hi guys, this bamboo was divided and given to me in late autumn last year. I would love to know what species it is so that I can find out more about caring for it as it looks a bit unloved atm but has new shoots on the way. Any help in this matter would be very much appreciated. Thanks guys.

It is pretty hard to identify from that picture. When it sends up some new shoots, pictures of them coming up is easiest way to id. When it is more mature, it will probably show more species distinguishing characteristics also.

Good luck with your bamboo, it looks OK to me for a newer division.

As for care; moderate fertilizer, keep moist but not soaked, and plenty of sun should do it.

Thanks very much for your reply, ill try to get some better pics. Thank you also for the care instructions, I'm a fairly experienced gardener but this is my first bamboo so any advice is gratefully received.
