another bamboo I'd like to identify

Post by Eric »

This is from a friend's place not too far from me. He's had it a long time but doesn't know for sure what kind of bamboo it is. That's an 8-1/2x11 sheet of paper for scale. The new shoot is roughly the same diameter.

Can't see the groove but this is a form of aureosulcata, either alata if the groove is green or good old yellow groove...if there is a yellow groove.

The one internode in the photo with the white paper looks like it has a yellow stripe on it. So I'd say "Yellow Groove".
