Ph. glauca vs. Ph. propinqua
I removed by Ph. glauca 'Yunzhu' in the last couple of years and replaced it with Ph. propinqua 'Beijing'. There is a small shoot coming up 6' away from the planting, and I'm not sure if it is from a remnant Yunzhu rhizome, or if it's the Beijing. The shoots are quite similar, and since they're juvenile I know there's variability. Do the shoots of both of these look similar? (I don't have photos yet, but can post some later if that will help)

Alan, I've had both for several years and could not tell them apart if I tried. Upon sheath fall yes, but leaf wrapped shoots nope.

Thanks Brad -- if you can't tell, there's no hope for me.
Since the shoot is coming up "out of bounds", I'll dig up the rhizome anyway -- I guess that will tell me which it is.
(I'm guessing remnant.)
