Hi,
Is it too late to add milorganite to my red margin bamboo in a container?
I have some extra from my lawn Reno so figured why not? But don’t want to do it if it’s too late in the season and will have growth spurts in too close to winter that will abort
Thanks for your input

Not too late IMO. I feed at this time of year too. It won't trigger any above-ground growth spurts as far as I can tell.

Feeding bamboo now won’t get any new shoots before the winter?
What good does it do? Good for the root system in general?

Fertilizer now will go to rhizomes and help build up for next spring's shoots.

Phyllostachys bamboos have two growing/shooting seasons. One is in the late spring when they shoot culms. The other is now in the fall when they are running rhizomes. I feed my bamboos once a month from March though September here.
Happy trails...
