I split one 15 gallon can into 5 plants using a small saw and clippers. Her are the results:
These plants are in 24 inch square ceramic pots.
I also cut out 3 plants in 5 gallon cans that will be available for trade in a month, or once I feel they have taken.
Comments?

Yes. Beautiful plant. Here's an image, I took a few years ago, of mine in Tampa.

looks like you should have great sucess with those. I got one this year and accidently broke off one of the culms and a piece of rhizome when I unpackaged it (it was a division with most of the dirt rinsed off) so I potted the piece that broke off up, and it promply wilted and lost all its leaves. it has since grown all new ones, and lives in its pot in the shade, and looks better than the larger one I planted in the ground in full sun....

Of the 5 divisions, three of them immediately wilted, but the rhizomes are so plentiful, I expect a similar result. The 2 that did not wilt immediately are looking especially nice. I'm hoping the all of the stressed leaves fall off quickly so that I can see better what I am living with.
Thanks for the encouragment!
