I found some variegated arundinaria gigantea in that cleared grove nearby. I apologize for the quality, it was on a cell!

I had dug some for Darwin Nelson years back. There was one with variegation in that batch. I do not know if it was stable or not.

not to burst a bubble, but I have noticed that often I get varigated leaves when a plant is re-growing from a severe stress event.... my multiplex tiny fern and fernleaf both have some varigated leaves right now, after the winter kill back.... if the grove was cleared, and this is re-growth, that is what you may be seeing, although it would not hurt to dig that culm after it all leafs out and see what happes with any shoots from it.

Yeah, Im wondering if the variegation will be stable or not. Hopefully it will, but I'm not gonna hold my breath
