Here it is...a 2 year old Square Bamboo....
1) put it in ground?
2) Divide it and put some of it in ground?
3) Leave it as is?
Opinions, please........

Re: Chuniobambusa quadrangularis
As soon as I can, I put everything in the ground. That's where it belongs. However, if you want to propagate it instead, keep dividing it into pots.
I'm in the process of getting my thirty odd varieties into a large suburban lot. Because the ground is so hard, I mound it up, to be shaped into raised beds later with retaining walls and 60 mil barrier inside that to make the inside line undulate, discouraging the roots from making a circular belt around the whole planting.
So, I opine in the ground if you have the space.

To locals: If there is something in the Trade column of my plant list you want a start for, I root-prune every so often to control the bamboo in my limited space. You are welcome to any starts for free, no trading. Let me know and come get it if it's available. Pick up only.
