Post by bambooweb »

This is from Ned Jaquith ( www.bamboogarden.com )
Fall Bamboo Meeting
Sept 30 10:00 AM
Haven't heard anything about the time. Lets assume the meeting will be at 10 AM if we don't hear different.

Washington State University Research Fields in Puyallup, Washington, located at 7612 Pioneer Way East just west of downtown Puyallup.

http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=76 ... yallup,+WA

We will start with a shot wander in the groves. Then a pot luck lunch. Then slides and a business meeting.

Ned will show slides of his recent trip to Europe where he and Susanne Lucas attended the European Bamboo Society meeting visited numerous Botanical Gardens and bamboo nurseries.
Directions:
From Seattle, go south to Puyallup on SR 167.
From South of Puyallup, go east to Puyallup on SR 512.
Pioneer Way is the main east west street through Puyallup.
Go west towards Tacoma on Pioneer Way. It becomes W. Pioneer Way.
When you reach WSU, the buildings will be on your left (south of the road) and
the fields on your right (north of the road). Go into the fields and drive on dirt road
northerly until you see the bamboo.

Puyallup is about 150 miles from Portland.

Are you planning on being in Portland that weekend?

Any bamboos going to be for sale there? Maybe, a Parvifolia by chance? This will determine what kind of vehicle to rent.

I know of someone close to Puyallup that last year had one that was splitting a 25 gal container. I will try and contact them.

Bambuseros,

Here are the directions to where we will meet next Saturday Sept 30.

We will meet at 10:00 AM at the groves.

Then we will go to the Chicona room for the meeting.

It will be our annual meeting with election of officers, and plan a schedule and map out the future goals of our society.

Please come and participate in this event as you are needed to add your input. There will be opening in the offices of President, Vice President, Treasurer and PNW Rep. Others are also open. James Clever has nominated Bill Hollenback for our new PNW Rep and Bill has accepted to run. Others need to put their hats in the ring and carry us on in the future in these offices.

I will show digital slides from my recent trip to Europe where I attended the EBS meeting at the Palmgarten in Frankfurt, and visited several Bamboo Nurseries and Arboretums.

Ned Jaqith

A short note from Adam Williams,
Jamie Girard, the current chapter treasurer and I have discussed and agreed that I will take over for him as the treasurer. I will of course abide by whatever the chapter decides on this. At this time I hereby nominate Phil Comer of Halfside Bamboo in Shelton, Washington for the Vice President position.

Directions to meeting.

Ned,

The room we are meeting at is on the south side of the road. Across Pioneer not by the groves. We will meet in the Administration building. I have the Chicona room reserved. It is on the left side of the drive as you enter our facility.
Here is a close up map. Will this work. There is a WSU sign along Pioneer Groves are to the North Meeting Room is to the South.

Andy

Directions to meeting.

The map below will show the actual meeting site. Go to Google maps and search for 7612 pioneer way east Puyallup , click on Hybrid. You can see the larger map and even zoom in on the bamboo groves north of the highway. The meeting room is shown on this map. It is south of the highway.

It looks like we could have three of the offices filled by bambooweb.info members. 8) Who wants to run for President?
