SEC/ABS Summer Bamboo Festival - Vendors/Craftsmen Needed

Post by Tracy »

The Southeast Chapter of the American Bamboo Society will host our 5th Annual Bamboo Festival at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, NC, July 9-10, 2011. We are currently seeking to add new vendors to expand and improve festival offerings. All items for sale should be made of bamboo or bamboo-themed. We are also seeking bamboo craftsmen to lead crafting workshops/demonstrations. Contact Tracy at for more information or to request a vendor application.

Keep an eye on www.sec-bamboo.org for the festival schedule as it becomes available.

Don't think I'm up to the 7½ hour drive each way, otherwise I'd love to go.

The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.

That would be a long trip! It was a nice event last year, I enjoyed being there but I'm only 1.5 hours away.

I so want to go, but we are still trying to get back on our feet after the move from the north to the south. Maybe next year..... I'm still trying to figure out a way to attend the ABS mtg later this year. I'm a new ABS member and it would be great to attend and get to meet folks.

maybe I'll win the lottery.... oh wait I have to purchase a ticket first, no wonder I've not won yet......

Another nice event this year. Was able to get a nice 9' Phyllostachys bambusoides Tanakae and a Phyllostachys nigra 'Megurochiku' in the auction. Met some nice people and enjoyed one presentation. Probably pushing the temp. limit a little on the Tanakae, but it is a neat one and they were giving the min temps in Celsius which meant little to me.

No photos of the conference but here are the plants. Thr Megurochiku isn't old enough to get stripes yet I guess.
