Photo ads via chrome

Post by fredgpops »

No problem adding photos via Internet Explorer to website but can't add photos via Chrome. I get to the website but it rejects my photo adds (It indicates the photo is accepted but there is no sign of it.). Internet Explorer is full of security holes so I'm trying to go Chrome. Rgds

I'm using Chrome and have been for years. How are you adding photos? Adding as a link using the [IMG] tags works fine. I'm testing uploading it using the "choose file" method...

The upload activity happens in a popup window. If Chrome is set to block popups or if you have an add-on that does this, you have to disable it for this website or you'll never see the upload status.

Note that images must be less than 1000 pixels high and wide or you'll get an error message after the upload completes.

This involves posting my photos to the "Photo" section of the website, specifically to the "add bamboo photos". There is a form you fill out and a feature that you use to locate the photo file and then use the upload feature. Filling out the form, uploading, and submitting works with either Internet Explorer or Chrome. Both indicate submission has taken place and there is a message that says that you can view your submission photo. There is no photo when I use Chrome (there is a photo with Internet Explorer).

Clarification - The photo is showing up in the species category but not in the "last 3 submission" feature which I use to use as a final verification of submission. Could be a hangup on the website. Rgds

I ran a experiment in the "photos" section. Instead of the "add bamboo photos" I submitted a non-bamboo photo in the "other photos" area and everything worked as advertised, including the area for last three submissions. I believe the "add bamboo photos" has a website problem. My guess is that the area showing last three submissions is hung up. Chrome is not a problem as I originally posed. Rgds

Fred,
I'll take a look at it this weekend after I get back from Minnesota.

I got my training finished early today so I looked at the code. It should be working correctly now.

Have you found the new information pages such as http://www.bambooweb.info/BambooPlantDe ... 44&units=I
Click on the show next to Flowering Data to see Betty Shor's data. Her records take up 189 pages and many species are not under current names so it will take some time to enter all of the records.

Good job - everything is in order. I'll followup on Betty S. I'll be trying some new photo posts that will make individual specie ID easier. I have not thought it thru yet, plus I need to see how my camera and photo software will allow me to post the data. THanks again for a job well done, plus helping the web out with your strenuous schedule. Rgds Fred
