Ps.a. Tonkin Cane
Just noticed the source list has max diameter at 2.5". A local guy makes bamboo fishing fly rods & uses Tonkin Cane (he gets them from China). I saw culms that he used in excess of 2.5". Looked like 5 to 6" but I did not measure. Rgds

That seems awful big for tonkin. I wonder if they are just telling him that's what it is.

I was given some Tonkin Cane a few years ago and it has been through temperatures down to 5°F several times now without losing its leaves. I think it is more cold hardy than the source list is showing it. I think the minimum temperature needs to be updated.
BTW, the person I got it from also feels that it is much more cold hardy than listed.
