Hi all,
I just bought a 15-gallon pot of Bambusa textilis 'Mutabilis' and when I got home, I noticed two flowers. The plant itself looks plenty healthy, with several new shoots. Has anybody heard of other Mutabilis (or other textilis cultivars) starting to flower? What might my plant's chance of survival be?
Thank you!
Gerhard

MarCat,
That's totally possible. The flowers I've noticed are on branches connected to the original culm used for propagation. Nothing yet on any of the newer culms. I'll keep an eye on the situation.

7 flowers now, all on branches from the same culm. Only one culm is affected, no flowers on any other culm. Plus, there are two new shoots that are definitely growing so overall the plant appears to be doing OK.
