Viburnum tinus virus id

Post by iain »

Hi All, I wonder if there is somebody out there who could positively id this disease/virus on my hedge. I first noticed a dying branch and pruned it out (apparently this can occassionally occur on V. tinus), but now the virus is spreading. As well as leaf "burn," there is the some dieback of immature shoots. The disease hasn't affected the flowering/fruiting. Sod's law, the hedge has just grown to give us a modicum of privacy! That said, I did remove viburnum beetle last year...

This is what you get when you favour other plants over bamboo, especially for screening...

Thanks in advance.
