maybe its just my plant but my lithophila does seem to be pretty tough as far as drought goes. I am hopeful it with get to a large diameter here.

I have not heard of pingyangensis so I am not sure what that one is :D
I just know my lithophila seems quite different than bambusoides though Glen may be correct in that its possibly a cultivar.
I am not sure on that.

lithophila also has a heavier thicker more paper feeling leaf than bambusoides

you can get a full spectrum plant bulb very cheaply. They work good.

I think for me up the hill the hardest part is it stays so damp in winter. Even after going a week without rain our dew points stay high. so it stays cool and damp. We have had more warm days this winter than normal yesterday was mid 60's but was 29 in the morning. I very rarely have to water in win...

I'm not sure but we may be looking around Horse Shoe Bend or Boise at some point. Zone 7A or 6B seems like theres a fair amount that can be grown there.

we had rain yesterday and then this am 25. Besides some cold nights in the low to mid 20's this winter its been quite mild at my 3000 ft perch in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. where are you located? we get this up here in the lower Mountains quite a bit in the winter. They Green up in the Spring. though mine are outside. Our yours in a Greenhouse?
