Thanks guys!
I googled nightshade and found what I was looking for. Turns out, it's extremely toxic!
This plant will nolonger exist in my backyard next year.

Backyard plantID
Hi guys,
I've searched high and low, even used a plant id app. Just couldn't id the plant that's been growing in my backyard.
Reason I want to ID it is because it looks very edible and grows really well without care.
ps. I don't like wasting things.

Re: Planter seems overly tall
6 inches? I would be concerned about maintaining the moisture level, unless you have a reliable source of water.

Re: Phy Propinqua ‘Beijing’ Flowering
Found some flowers on my Beijing also today. My Beijing was top killed and downsized quite significantly (being grown on a raised bed). I've since relocated to a shaded place near the foundation. It looks healthy currently with only a handful of flowers. I suspect it will continue to flower next yea...

Re: Moe Vivax pics
Nice photos. If only those bamboos can grow well in zone 5... I wish someone would try to genetic engineer some super cold hardy bamboos that can grow really tall. I don't see why this can't be done. Different bamboo species already have various degree of cold tolerance. If we can figure out how bam...

Re: Boo-Shoots for 2015
I like the look of Parvifolia, nice and thick like what we imagine bamboos should look like. Unfortunately, I didn't tarp my bamboo this past winter and it was pretty much a complete top kill. It slightly downsized this year instead of up-sizing. This sets it back 2 years, because next year, it'll p...

Re: Winter 2014/2015
...I heard that Toronto has not had a day above freezing since 24 January True, and there's been plenty of extreme cold days. The good news is, after tomorrow, it will gradually warm up...but still not expected to break "0 C" until well into March. The surprise thing is, my Nigra that is ...

Re: my new planted bamboo is dying.... I think
Oh and another reason could be sun-shock. I.e if this plant had always been in shaded areas, and now suddenly exposed to full sun. Add to that the transplant shock. That could be lethal combo...

Re: my new planted bamboo is dying.... I think
I am guessing you didn't preserve enough of the orininal root ball (with dirt intact). The problem is, when transplanting a bamboo from a pot, there is a good chance that the dirt would fall of from the roots. It would take time for root follicals to really attach the new soil and new soil type. In ...

Re: Winter 2014/2015
Overnight with windchill feeling like -40! (Coincidentally, -40 Celsius = -40 Fahrenheit) I feel bad for not tarping my boos now :( The amount of snow covering the ground isn't much either, no more than half a foot by my estimate. Toronto just happened to miss some of the snow storms that blanketed ...

Actually -24 celsius + windchill = -35 degree celsius!

Re: Winter 2014/2015
So there is/was definitely a rodent or something under my bamboo tarp. :( Some leaves chewed off... Consider yourself lucky. Last year, my tarped bamboos were completely decimated by field mice, chewing off not only leaves but small branches as well. At least you got revenge with those poisons. Tho...

Re: Winter 2014/2015
An update on my boos. The ground is partially tarped with floor-mats for some, otherwise, they're fully exposed. It looks like none of my bamboos will be able to retain their leaves by Spring time. My best hope is with Nigra surprisingly, which has the benefit of being next the house and a table nex...
