Re: 5 Small or 1 Large Tropical Blue

have too agree with Alan L on this one. chungii forms a vase shaped clump. it will never look like one plant, just five plants too close together. something very upright might create the proper effect, like an oldhamii for example. I don't know about that (vase shaped). Mine are pretty erect. I don...

Re: Opinions Please...

I really don't use fertilizers or compost on my in-ground bamboos. Florida Viagra Water is the best. :-)

Mike, I would like to see if adding compost around the new shoots will give you any more culms.

Re: Opinions Please...

Mike, All my D. asper new shoots come out above ground. None from below ground. I do have a lot of the new shoots to abort, but I don't think it has anything to do with coming out above ground. The ones that don't abort just grow roots to the ground and root in as in the picture below. Don't know ab...

Re: RE: Propagation by ground layering

On one side all the leaves died and fell off. On the other side, the leaves are still on, but it will probably be next Summer before I will be able to tell if I get anything out of it. I just don't have enough sunlight, but I wouldn't give up my shade for all the sunlight in the world. Any update o...

My brother has about 10 acres about an hour north of you in Bushnell and may be interested in some of the bamboo. Email sent! If he emails me then I can send him my pdf document listing of my bamboos. Also any i...

Funny thing is, I find them all over my bamboo, but I have never seen them eating bamboo leaves or seen any damage to my bamboo leaves. My crinum lillies they love and just devastate them.

Stock Reduction

I'm planning on moving to another place (3 to 6 months time frame) and I will not be able to keep as many stock plants as I have been at my current place. So I am planning on reducing my inventory to a smaller size. If you are interested in anything particular bamboo, then email at the email address...

Re: Make "location" field mandatory

Zone would vary so much. Wet zone 9 and dry zone 9. I like location as specific place. I realize that, but many people don't want to post any personal information online that could be used for either ID theft or to reveal their government protected hiding area. Ah! I forgot about the Witness...

Re: Make "location" field mandatory

would it be possible to make it a real place, such as the drop down menues with the states that you see everywhere now when you order something online? Im thinking if you just have a field that is required text, people can put whatever they want in it- something like: Location: wherever my wife tel...
