In my Aurea 47 culms I just counted, It's dark, 10:00pm but I'm sure there is only one, because when I found it, I thought , it's about time. It is free to run, some is watered, some is not, and it's five years old.
Maybe someone can explain that one.

If most all bamboo is cloned, and it seeds....
Kentuck's Bambusa textilis 'Albostriata' got me to thinking. If in fact it was a clone, and all Albostriatas then begin to seed, all over, we end up with, or could, a new plant. Herein lies my question. Mother nature being the great builder she is, does away with certain unfavorable things to make w...

RE: Pool Landscaping & Bamboo ~ Can It Work?
I don't think the issue should be how far a rhizome will go. You should remember bamboo is a grass,a big woody grass. Like grass it's roots need to be trimmed. When grass goes where you don't want it, you cut it! Same here. You could do some type of pea gravel trench about three feet deep, for rhizo...

Don't do any trimming on a new planting unless the culm is dead. This is how the plant gets it's energy.
Let it continue to size up for a couple of years!

Randy Bothwell, a police detective in Chester, Pa., considered and rejected a number of ways to rid his yard of bamboo: salt, an exorcism, shooting it with his service revolver.

RE: How do I get rid of bees?
I say have them removed! I live in a small East Texas town and have a small neighborhood market. Every morning the "older" men gather for coffee. One day the topic was killer bees! In short it was stated by all that we would never have to deal with them because it got too cold here! John w...
