Could be either A or B. I would wait on rmoving the original culm it could still produce another larger culm and if the larger (newest culm) is it's of shoot it is probably still feeding it nutrients. Did you scarify the branch nodes where the bottles cover? Wait several weeks and keep moist Vulgar...
