Zone 7 there are lots of possibilities. Zone 5 only a few.
The most cold hardy, all Phyllostachys:
Midsize (20'-40')
-aureosulcata & forms (-15F)
-bissetii (-15F)
-nuda (-15F)
Timber (40'+)
-rubromarginata (-5F)
-vivax (-5F)
-henon (0F)

Also, if you follow the links to the full gallery I have some pics of a new culmn - is that the blue/grey color that glauca usually has? I've never seen glauca in person before (previously).

hmm... doesn't P. glauca max out at 2" diameter? Also the glauca shoots I've seen pics of are missing the tan bottom half of each sheath leave, which all the shoots in these particular groves had. Also aren't the sheath blades crinkled on glauca? At least that's what a chinese book that I have ...
