Hi,

My name is Travis and new to the site. I work at a small family nursery in Manatee county In Florida. We acquired this bamboo and it is uncommon to the the area and not really sold at other nurseries around us. Its nice and would make a great hedge line or work for small yards. we are about to start dividing the rhizome and container planting it for sale at our nursery and really need to know its name.

Its about 16 feet tall, the canes are 1/2 to 5/8 in diameter and very tight together. young canes are green with slight blueish dust on the internode and hardens off brownish yellow (almost a rust color). The internodal lenth is around 1 ft. As stated in the title it is a clumper. we are in usda zone 9b/9a and it doesn't seem to be bothered by the winter temps.

My best guess would be B. Textilis 'dwarf' but descriptions online seem to be a little bit off as to this bamboo. as far as cane color and diameter of cane. Maybe a different variety of textilis.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Travis

Just a guess, the Gracilis form of B textilis.
