Hello there,
I've bought a couple of different seeds from Aliexpress and said to myself: "well it's time to try starting some bamboo seeds".
I bought fake Phyllostchys aureosulcata seeds and some Moso seeds that could be legit (yet probably too old). I'll start them and if by miracle I can get them to sprout, we'll see what I got.
If I would have to guess, I'd say all are Moso. Here are pictures they attached with the seeds I ordered. Probably stolen on the web.

Ok, there is at least some life in them. They seem to be fresh enough to be able to germinate. One of the Phyllostachys aureosulcata (fake) seeds started germinating.
I guess I might end up with a bunch of new Moso seedlings again.

There are several seedlings. I have forgotten how delicate Moso can be, when you start it from seed. some are dark green, some are sickly yellowish looking from the start. Same pot, same conditions. No variegation, except perhaps if these sickly looking seedlings have some kind of variegation panned for later. P. Aureosulcata seedlings look identical so far, perhaps they have just a little bit smaller leaves and somehat better germination rate (which still stinks).
