Help with identification

Post by ac555 »

Hi, new to the forum, and bamboo. Moved into my house a little over a year ago. This bamboo stock has been here for 10 years the neighbors said. Just trying to find out what type it is. All the pieces are about 3" wide and 50ft tall. Some of the pieces were cut as you can see in the pics, and have not grown back. How is the growth of this? I see a lot of smaller branches(?) coming off of it, and some shoots growing from the ground up in the clump. Thanks!

I'd say clumping variety. Bambusa most likely. Can you give more detailed photo of branches at the node, leaves and shots. Even if I have no clue, others, more familiar with tropical bamboos will be able to help.
