Try the French bamboo forum with your question, did you check Kimmei or Paul Whitaker's nursery?

I think that Bambusoides are heat lovers so maybe you can find the look you fancy among the nigra forms?

Thanks needmore I am a collector and have all the nigra that I know of ,there is not a nigra black with yellow stripes that I know of ,shame as it looks fantastic ,the company that has it also has some other nice rare bamboos e.g. Phyllostachys edulis 'mixta' ,Phyllostachys bambusoides 'kawadana'and Phyllostachys iridescens 'heterochroma' but with the iridescens at €500 +it's not cheap

I think that there are nigra forms with yellow sulcus? Perhaps I misremember?

This one would be mine if I could get it - Phyllostachys nigra 'Kiyoshi'

If I remember correctly the price for bambusoides mixta was quite a bit cheaper when newfi first offered it.
It is all about demand and supply and maybe keeping the latter somewhat under control ;)

You may have some luck directly asking someone on the french boo forums who has mixta if they are willing to trade or offer you a good price for a piece of rhizome.

I was was pleasantly surprised to receive a massage on Facebook from the person that introduced the bamboo to Europe from China and it seem very hardy ......we introduce this bamboo 4 years ago; He came from north China ( sha anxi) and it's the most frost resistant of the P; bambusoides family He is more hardy than -20°c without damage!

That would make it hardier than P. aureosulcata. I think he's giving you a sales pitch rather than facts.
