Howdy folks.
In an earlier post I mentioned that voles damaged some of my bamboo. In particular, one of the harbin inversas had its rhizomes eaten around almost its entire perimeter. The part where the rhizome wasn't eaten is now shooting like crazy--10 shoots, at most 6 inches apart. Some of the shoot culms are actually touching as they start their ascent out of the ground.
Should I just let the plant do what it wants, or should I cull some of the smaller shoots so that the plant can put more energy into a few shoots?
Thanks,
jp
