Like Kyuzo (pictured above) in "The Seven Samurai," I've "...Killed (more than) two..." bamboos.

Well, you tried. That's the scientific approach. Tough little buggers, eh?

STick the infested pot in the oven and that should do the trick.

RE: Millipedes of Doom
Since the neighbor cut down a lot of the Tree of Heaven next door, which I had suspected of harboring the millipedes, I have seen no sign of millipedes this past winter. I hope it continues that way.

RE: Millipedes of Doom
Found a millipede infestation in one pot of MOSO. *sigh* I suspect they came in with the flooding in the basement due to all the rain last week. I hope this isn't the start of a trend.

Re: Millipedes of Doom
I don't recall having a problem with millipedes last year, but they are back with a vengance this year. I'm trying a different approach, a small baited cup pushed into the soil so the millipedes can fall in, but can't climb out. For the bait I am trying papaya. If that doesn't work I will try apple.

Are these in the pots that you've just brought into the house?

Both pots which had the outbreak had been inside for a while. One had never been outside.Alan_L wrote:Are these in the pots that you've just brought into the house?
I also discovered an aphid outbreak yesterday. It does not bode well for this Winter.

Re: Millipedes of Doom
Last year I had termites come out of one pot (one of my robusta divisions -- that plant was mostly dead wood).
Luckily they hadn't gotten off of the sweater box lid I had the pots on yet.
