Looks like your climate allows you lots of variety Fred, do you get plenty of summer heat to get the Phyllostachys to size up and run? The most beautiful bamboo I've ever killed would likely thrive for you, not sure of the latest name but either menstruocalamus or chimonobambusa sichuanensis was just stunning. I container grew it but up potted too fast and rotted it to death :drunken: If you don't have it already it would be a good one to source.

I think I have about 116 different bamboo species - both clumpers and runners. I have a large grove of madake. I have warm summer days and cool nights.
