tiny url
Bill, I like your aerial photo, so I just had to do my own and create a tiny url to add to my profile. I'm surprised how clear my driveway, pond, house and garage show up on the aerial. Maybe I can get them to update it and show the bamboo!

Iowa, is the entire pink area yours? It looks like there are lots of ponds, may I assume that they all freeze over in winter? I can see why you are hoping for your bamboo to run around! Rubro & Bissetii.....

property boundary

Blue line encloses our property bounderies. The red dots show where the bamboo is planted. bamboo is all planted in predominantly elm woodlands. The ponds freeze up fast once below freezing temps come along. Biggest pond is 2.5 acres. Other 2 ponds we have have been dry a lot during the 2000's. Approx. acreage 180
And no, I don't get to plant it all in bamboo. I live on a farm, so am restricted to playing in the woods. But rubro, if wanted can have 5 acres at least.
I'll update everyone on how many survive by next spring. I'm a skeptic until they survive 1 winter here.
