Using Pictures in the Wiki

Post by foxd »

I have been playing with the Wiki quite a bit and I'm wondering about adding pictures of the various species. Any problem with using pictures from the bamboo pictures here and if not how should they be coded?

The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.

A link to photos should be to the URL for photos with data.

Phyllostachys acuta

For a Genus you can get photos through a URL such as:
http://www.bambooweb.info/ShowPictures2.php?Genus=Sasa
Replace "Sasa" with the name of the Genus.

When you first go to the data with photos pages it will give you a long URL but all you need is the BooID and number.

I will be redoing and adding a lot more information and links to those pages.

I was thinking more in terms of having a photos of the species on the page, such as pictures of the plant, shoots, illustrations etc. It appears that the Wiki has some provision for uploading, but I was unsure how that related to the photos section.
