site email should be working

Post by bambooweb »

I made some changes in the email system so we should stop getting the error each time someone posts.

Well I just make 2 posts and I got an error each time. I opened up another web page and looked to see if my posts had gone through and they had so I didn't double post. (Let's see how this one works)

EDIT: no problem on this one.

Bill,

What I would like to know is why I'm no longer receiving emails when someone posts to a topic that I've posted to or that I have selected to monitor? I haven't received any emails from the Bambooweb.info forum since probably sometime last week.

I looked at my profile and I didn't see where anything looked different and which might cause the lack of emails.

Just a lonely guy in Tampa

You should start getting the emails again but It looks like ipower has some domains blocked so that will not be fixed until I get the site moved.

I changed the email address to come from hollenback.com that is on bluehost. Hopefully that will work until the site is moved.

The question is why would ipower spend time making changes on their old servers as they try to move everyone to the new platform. :? I think it is to try and force people to move to the new platform and they think will stay with them rather than moving to a new host.

That did not work I will try with authentication. americanbamboo.org started requiring authentication to send email last weekend.

OK it worked one time in a row. I guess we have to live with it for another 10 days.

If I wanted to leave the site with this host I could write some code that reads the email before sending each time but that would be more of a pain in the butt than living with it for 10 days. Sorry about that.

Not complaining, but just a notification. I did not receive any emails from Bambooweb.info today. I guess I can live with it for at least another 10 days.

I received an email from a person today that tried to contact Daphne Lewis but her email was not working. Guess what web host her site (and email) is on.
