Bill,

Can you block IP ranges? I manage quite a few servers in the school District and we finally found where most of the spam was coming from. We started getting hit multiple times a second by bots coming from Amsterdam. Once we identified the servers and their subnets, we blocked almost all the viagra and bots. I think about 70% were coming from Amsterdam, NL.

I gave up on trying to do a forum on my own website. I think you have the best and it doesn't make sense for me to spend too much time on something that didn't get used much other than by spammers.

So we aren't getting more visits from boonuts, just from bots? That sucks.

I must say that I frequent Yahoo Answers to some degree and have been "directing" people here that are searching for more bamboo info.

I think a lot of folks switched over from the gardenweb/bamboo forum when it was taken over and pop ups became an issue. This site needs more things to attract and hold member interest & participation. I posted some suggestions today. Rgds - Fred

I did Google "bamboo information" and out of 1.6 million hits, Bambooweb.info was number 5 and 6.
