Looking for Indocalamus tesselatus

I'm looking for Indocalamus tesselatus for trade or sale. Large amounts would be nice because I'm looking for a quick, if not instant, impact in a very large garden (more like a small arboretum, according to friends). Most of my bamboos are new this year and either too small to share or need to spread their rhizomes out from the solid containerized mass they developed before I can dig any for trading purposes. The two bamboos I have that I can share are Fargesia dracocephala 'Rufa' and Sasa hayatae (veitchii f. minor). Check the plant list on my blog (link in profile) for a list of plants I'm growing. I can supply divisions or cuttings of most of the plants on that list, so please give it a look and see if there's anything you'd like to trade for.

Greetings and welcome, my guess is that no one has I tess in any large quantities save for bamboo nurseries so I suspect you'll have much luck with a trade. If you are willing to buy some I'd suggest the I hamadae form from Bamboo Garden. I find it to be more attractive but thqt may just be a matter of taste. I suspect you can dig around and find a nursery willing to deal a bit on the I tess.

Hi Brad. Thanks for the welcome. I'm not expecting any one person to have large quantities to share. I guess I should have spelled that out. I'm looking for whatever people have to share and will do multiple trades. I have a very limited budget, which is why I'm looking for trades or very low-priced purchases rather than just going to Bamboo Gardens and buying as much as I want.

As far as I. hamadae vs. I. tess, I'd rather have the shorter form.

From what I've seen I think the Hamadae looks tidier and has an overall nicer appearance. Check out the I tess photo @ Lewis Bamboo where it is overhead tall, it actually looks to get too tall there and sort of sloppy.

Yeah, that's a pretty ugly Indo tess. Looks like it's in a pretty exposed location, which might account for part of it. However, Alabama is a very different climate from mine. Everything I've seen and read indicate that it's a much shorter plant in climates like the PNW and England, and there are plenty of photos from gardens in both areas where it looks quite attractive to me and fits the requirements for where I want to plant it. That's really the most important thing: whether a plant is the right fit, both culturally and aesthetically, for a certain location. Everything I've seen indicates tess is a better fit for my situation than hamadae, regardless of whether hamadae may be a bit tidier. Thank you for your opinion, though.
