Re: Cold Thur night
Nope, they don't. I hit 23°F in the beginning of December, and this week it's looking like 23°F again Thursday night, and 25°F Friday night. Friday's high is only supposed to be mid-30's, so there is a very good likelihood I could be below freezing for over 36 hours.Bamboo Outlaw wrote:Many of the tropical really don't like it when we hit 25.
Edit: they just revised my forecast...
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 35.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 24.
I'm thinking my wood chipper is going to get a work out come spring time.

This is bad indeed. I am sure we will see top kill on many of the new tropical in the test plot, more than we already have.

Re: Cold Thur night
If I did not know better I would think that you were looking at the forecast here. Of course after lower than normal temps and record snowfalls in the last two years I am loving it but I don't have any tropicals in the ground.mantis wrote:Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.

Re: Cold Thur night
Tuesday 31° F | 22° F
Wednesday 36° F | 22° F
Thursday 36° F | 20° F
Friday 31° F | 18° F
Saturday 29° F | 16° F
I sure do love winter.. Then again... our low temp so far for winter would be that 16º F; I'm thinking we may be adjusted to 7b due to a lack 0º to 5º F weather we used to get. Anyone know when the new USDA hardiness map comes out?

Re: Cold Thur night
Last night we were supposed to bottom out at 29°F, but I got down to 26.7°F. So, with a prediction of 21° makes it very possible that I'll actually see temps in the teens. This is almost comical.

Still, you are +35 degrees warmer than western Iowa...I imagine that the ninja there are in a state of hybernation, to be roused only in dire circumstances. Knocking monkeys off of the fruit trees may qualify...

think needmore is preparing for the cold weather, too
I would say the greatest difficulty of an arctic ninja, is peeing outside in the subzero temps while fending off frostbite.

I'm holding off commenting on how cold it is until after the 15th.

The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.

Perhaps an even greater difficulty for the arctic ninja is to remain hidden while stalking an opponent - I would think that there is not a lot of black cover to blend into - do you think that they are able to still honor the ninja code if they wear all-white outfits?Iowaboo wrote: think needmore is preparing for the cold weather, too
