ID of semitropical bamboo

Post by ringersa »

I have access to a bamboo that I don't remember seeing before. It is not phyllostachys. I'm guessing that it a member of the very large Barbuda clan. If I was guessing I would say B. multiplex. I do have several members of that group but this particular bamboo is different. The culm sheaths are wildly varigated. In fact the semipersistent sheath are the thing you notice about this boo. Anyone with suggestions?? The max diameter is an inch or less, the height is about 20ft and the grove of several hundred culms has many drooping near the ground. It is very unkempt and I plan on rehabbing it soon but would like to know it's ID. Sorry, having trouble uploading pics...
