As the subject says, I have recently inherited a bamboo grove and am at a bit of a loss on where to start. I figured knowing exactly what I'm working with would be something. This album has some photos of what I'm working with. It seems to be a clumping variety and well established but poorly maintained. I plan to identify here then seek advice elsewhere on this site. The album I linked contains pictures of culms and what I am pretty sure are rhizomes breaching the soil. The bamboo is actually in flower right now but I failed to get pictures of that this time. Will try to get more next time I visit the property this Sunday.
Really appreciate any help!

Re: New bamboo caretaker seeking help
Greetings, that is not bamboo but is a grass, Arundo donax. Here in CA it looks quite dead by spring and then quickly comes back to life and looks good again. I don't grow it here but it is very common and my guess is that no one tends the ones I see. In Indiana I grew it and cut it down each spring before the new growth came up.
