Are these new shoots or a different plant altogether?

Post by tachikoma »

The only thing I have planted under here is a big rhizome chunk that I cut out of a grove of what looked like oldhamii.

Are these shoots from the rhizome ball or another species completely?

Thanks in advance!

I'm fairly certain those are not bamboo. It looks a lot like one of the Musa (Banana) family of plants but I'm not 100% certain.

What is the root spread & depth of these if they are ginger?
I'm thinking of digging up and potting them to better care for seedlings.
