A friend gave me this bamboo plant for my new apartment, saying it's considered an auspicious decoration item based on Chinese Feng Shui theory. I don't really have a green thumb, but I thought I'll give it a try. I bought a bamboo pot, added a little water into the pot, then place the bamboo in it. It's been a week or so and I can see it's not doing well at all. Believing in Feng Shui or not, since I've been given a life, I'd most certainly hope it will not die, but rather live well and green.
Can anyone please teach me how to grow this thing. Thank you.

Re: Bamboo SOS
This is not a bamboo. It's a Dracaena. Google Lucky Bamboo for hints on how to care for it.

Regardless of what they say it grows best actually in soil. Go buy some soil for it. Mine does great in very wet soil though. Then put it close to a window but not in direct sun. But as much light as you can.
